Derek and Ali arrived right on time. With Derek's excellent grasp of spatial relationship, and Ali's cheerful, efficient and competant attitude, this was a great team. They were able to completely empty my unit in a truck that was smaller than reserved in 2 hours. I will use them without reservations shoulld I ever need this kind of service again and certainly will be recommending them to oothers. Moving is stressfull, they made this part of it so easy. Thank you.

Moved a full 3 bedroom house 45 miles in a 26 foot truck. The guys were prompt, friendly and professional. They also moved fast. It helped that we had basically organized everything for them beforehand, but they were motivated to get us moved as fast as possible. Frankly, in the process of buying a new house this is some of the best money we have spent.

Herb and Tracy showed up 15 minutes early. They were very professional and nice. The dining set was loaded carefully and securely. I drove the Uhaul to its destination where they unloaded just as carefully. Overall, it was a good experience. I would recommend this company for small moving jobs like this and will likely hire them again.

We just moved back to our house that had been completely painted and floors refinished. Â So it was very critical to us that the movers be exceedingly careful. Â And I'm happy to say that expectations were exceeded. Â Ali and his son from Big Guy for Hire, were extremely careful with not only our belongings, but with the floors and walls. Â They were polite and professional and did an overall great job in a much shorter time than I expected. I highly recommend Big Guy for Hire and would not hesitate to hire them again should the need arise. Â

We just finished an all-day loading of 4 storage containers and a U Haul. Based on my experience with past moves, the Big Guy three-man team of Derek, Derrick, and John easily did the work of 6 men. They were each extremely polite, conscientious, patient, and hardworking. Most of all, they [were] trustworthy with our things. This is the most professional moving crew I have encountered, and I would definitely recommend this team to friends and family!

Two movers moved heavy furniture, dishes, clothes, and many other boxes to my son's second floor apartment. The two young movers, Herb and Jaylen, showed up a little late due to another job, but that was not a big deal for us. I mention it only so other folks understand that stuff happens. Anyway, Herb and Jaylen were polite, pleasant, and professional, and did a very good job moving all the items upstairs well within the time frame the job was to take. Nothing broken, no problems. Highly recommended, good value for the money.

Let me just preface this review by saying that previous to going to John (the owner) at Big Guy for Hire; we had dealt with a larger national moving company that basically stole our deposit, as they never actually showed up to pick up our belongings; and a week after the move was to happen, has yet to call us back, despite several voicemails and emails from us. Based on the experience with the first company, we were understandably cautious; and let me just say that I'm SO GLAD that the first company screwed us over, because without that happening, we would not have had the pleasure of working with John and his movers at Big Guy for Hire; and truly appreciate the level of service and honesty that they offer. Big Guy for Hire is a local Detroit company that will give you the responsiveness, service and care that no big company can offer. I connected with John a little over a week ago about helping my parents move from Detroit to Boston, after the other movers never showed up. Early this morning, he had arrived at Boston. While I was not present myself for the pick up and the delivery; my parents were and they had only good things to say about John and his movers. Lastly, the rate he offered was definitely one that was on par with what the bigger companies were offering. If you're paying the same amount of money, why not get quality service along with it? The move out the garage was fantastic! Very polite men who moved everything with high level of professionalism. Took 2 hours for two "big guys", which was just what was anticipated. Move back into house not quite as fantastic, but still good. The move was scheduled for 6:00 p.m., but due to being held up at prior job(s) the crew didn't arrive until 9:00 pm. The cost was significantly higher on move back because it took an extra half-hour, which is understandable and expected because of furniture placement, adding felt pads and such, but also because three guys showed up when were confirmed two. Maybe it took less time with three guys, but seems like they could have gotten in done with 2 guys in about the same amount of time (2.5 hours). Still, crew was very polite, and did an excellent job moving. Notwithstanding these issues, best experience I've had with hiring a moving crew.

Derek and the guys are awesome to work with. They have helped us move cross-country, cross-state, and move things around the house. They are courteous and professional and work very quickly (no complaints, worked the entire time, and they drove a long distance). We had a lot of stuff and heavy items that required special care and Derek carefully packed the truck so that everything fit and nothing was broken in either move! Highly recommended and we always call them whenever we need anything moved.

Derek and Herb were utmost professionals with a very pleasant demeanor despite the hard laborious job they perform. They were a pleasure to work with and were the utmost in professional from the moment they walked in. These guys are true professionals that pay attention to the smallest of details such as shrink wrapping the delicate pieces. They moved into action immediately and did not stop until the job was complete. While they were rapid they were also mindful and very careful in the handling of all the delicate items. I will be calling them back in a few weeks when I need everything moved back in to the house.

The way my apartment was situated, the truck had to be parked far away from the front door. I had a car tow carrier attached so they were unable to put the ramp down. I felt so terrible. But they handled everything for me with professionalism and a great attitude. They continuously worked and never slacked. They wrapped my couch for me to protect it, they tied things up in the truck so nothing would shift, and they packed everything so efficiently I had room to spare for incidentals. We drove from Michigan to North Carolina and not a darn thing shifted in the truck. Thank you Big Guys for the service that you provide and for being so awesome at what you do!!!!! :)Â

AMAZING! I have had a "few" movers, this will be my 12th move...(I move for work) and these guys are BY FAR the best I have ever had... They WORKED their butts off, non stop. When I say "non stop" these guys WORKED. Extremely professional and efficient. I can't say enough about them. Thank you so much.

I am a return customer after having them load and unload a uhaul one year ago. This year I had them load a 16ft Penske truck front to back, top to bottom, completely full. The carried items of incredible weight with efficiency. Everything was wrapped, packed safely, tightly, securely, and handled with care. All my televisions arrived safely (without a box mind you), as did all my other electronics, frames, furniture etc. I drove the truck from Flint, MI to Richmond, VA and hardly any item seemd to budge. The skill required to pack so much into a small space and do it securely can not be understated. Regardless of cost get the the professionals, Big Guy for Hire.

I requested service on Friday with expectation that they would come the following week. To my surprise they were available that evening. They came a bit late but the job was done promptly and courteously and within the timeframe expected. Definitely use them again.
