The service of Big Guy For Hire was excellent! My husband and I were moving from a house to a condo. They were on time and they took their time to wrap our items and ensure that they were organized correctly for the drive. While unloading they took time to help with placement and were courteous and helpful. The price was very reasonable compared to bigger named companies that I was initially considering. I found his company on a whim after reading some horrible reviews of the service of Two Men and a Truck in our local area. I would recommended Big Guy For Hire to anyone and will be calling them whenever we move again.

We needed to have some things moved from our garage to our basement, 2 lateral file cabinets, work bench and 3 piece slate slabs from our dismantled pool table and these guys were able to do the job. I would highly recommend them AND use them again. I'm glad I found them on Angie's List. great job!! They were doing a job in the area and were able to come the same day I called.

I needed a washer and a dryer moved from the basement of one house and move to the basement of a second house.The washer of the second house needed to be moved from the basement of the second house to the garage.I added a dresser move from the basement of the first house to the living room of the first house. I had a small moving job and when I called John we worked out when we were able to do the job. We both had to be a little flexible which is quite understandable because of the nature of moving. As it turned out, John was able to come out earlier than I expected which helped out at the time. He met me at the first house and he and his partner went immediately to work. They were efficient and careful of the house and the furniture while moving. I even asked for a quick add-on move, it was one piece of furniture from the basement to the living room, which was one more move than we discussed, and they were very accommodating. They were courteous and professional and I would definitely use them again. The one draw back was they did not supply the truck. That was nothing on them and that was easily remedied with a call to UHaul.Since I had prepared everything for moving, the job went very quickly.

John worked with my husband and I on our out-of-state move. We had about a month to plan a move from Michigan to Virginia, and we found ourselves completely overwhelmed. We settled on a high-rise apartment in Arlington, and it posed two major moving challenges: 1. It was in a crowded area, and 2. The building required you to use a service elevator to move in, and you had to schedule this ahead of time. Every moving company we contacting was extremely expensive, and wanted to charge us extra to set our delivery date. They all said we could expect our stuff within 5-14 days, and we might know the day before. This wouldn't work for us. When we found Big Guy for Hire, and learned that John accompanies you every step of the move, we were relieved.  John and his assistant showed up the day before our move to pack our truck. What had taken us a week to pack was loaded in about an hour. The next day, we left early in the morning for Virginia, and I think John actually ended up leaving before us.  En route, I got a troubling call on my cell phone. The girl from our complex was calling me from her cell phone: the night before our move, Virginia had gotten one of their worst storms on record. There was no power anywhere, we couldn't use the elevator, there was no where for us to park our moving truck, and she didn't know what to tell us. Naturally, I panicked.We immediately called John, who was very calm. After talking in through, the plan was to continue on and assess the situation once we arrived. As we pulled up to our complex, we saw trees down, no one was out, and all the... John waited as we went in and signed our lease. We were given flashlights, and the promise that IF the power came back on, we would have the elevator all to ourselves. John has a flight home the next day, and we knew our move HAD to happen that day. We waited around for a bit, and as my husband and I were about to book a hotel room ourselves, the lights flickered and the power came back on! We were relieved.The power came on at 6 pm, and John had us moved in by 10 pm. He worked fast, and with great care. In all the chaos, nothing was broken, or even dented. He helped us return our Uhual truck, which was also a relief, seeing as how the traffic lights were still out.During our entire chaotic move, John was calm and professional. We felt safe trusting all of our belonging to him during the drive, and we appreciated his flexibility with everything that happened. He answer all of our questions prompting leading up to the move, and treated our move like it was important to him (unlike the big moving companies that treated us like a number).  We would highly recommend Big Guy for Hire to anyone moving anything anywhere...in state or out.... John was great! I needed someone to load my truck, drive and unload. He was recommend to me by a classmate of mine in grad school in Michigan. After he and his staff helper got to my apt in Ann Arbor, they packed the truck with my 1 bedroom apt-sized amount of belongings very quickly and carefully. All of my fragiles were intact after we arrived in Chicago 4 hours later. John also unloaded the truck JUST as quickly. The pricing was reasonable and professionalism top-notch. I liked John because I think he had my stuff's best interest in mind. I would highly recommend him any day!

The Big-Guy Team arrived on time and moved the washing machine and dryer to the first floor in less than 15 minutes. Our basement stairway is narrow, but the Team did not even come close to hitting any of the walls on the way upstairs. These guys really know the moving business. We will use them for our next moving project.

Was taking my furniture and other stuff from a townhouse to a storage. John and his assistant did an excellent job loading the truck and then unloading it into the storage unit. Everything was done very carefully, fast, efficiently. Would definitely hire these guys again.

I hired 2 big guys to help me with a short distance move. just like they advertise - 2 big guys showed up when they where supposed to and helped me move. I rented a U-Haul the day before and did some of the move the night before (only going 10 miles). Being a big guy myself, I helped the 2 guys to speed things along.Both movers where very professional and knew what they were doing. I would use them again in a second. Highly recommended.

Removed crated items from a pod and placed the items in the house. The compnay owner and 1 additional worker arrived on time. They took the time to uncrate several items and move them into the house as well as carry items to the basement.Both men were very professional and very careful with the items.Since it only took 1 hour to move the items I was only charged for the 1 hour instead of two hours which I really appreciated.

They moved a piano from our home into storage. We live in an older home and the doorways can prove difficult for moving objects in and out of rooms. Our expectations were that they would be able to move it out with little reconfiguration, but upon arrival the service provider discovered that additional work was required to manipulate the piano out of the house. It became a very difficult job and they were still able to finish the job within the time frame that was established despite having put in a full day of work before arriving to our home. They certainly put in the extra effort and I would recommend their services to others. They were polite and professional and completed the work even though I had miscalculated the effort that would be required by them. I would recommend them to others.

We used Big Guy For Hire Moving & Labor Services, about one year ago. We rented the truck at his suggestion, because he said we could rent it cheaper than he could. He went to my daughter's apartment, and packed the tuck. It was packed better than I have ever seen a truck packed before. He got everything in there. Then, we drove the truck to her new home. We found him on Angies List, and used him. We were glad we did. He was allergic to my daughter's cat, and he still kept working. He was really great. I really don't want to move, but if I did, I would use The Big Guy. You can give him a couple of A Pluses!

They did such a fantastic job! I would definitely hire them again and will be recommending to friends/family. They were very professional, organized, courteous, VERY careful with all of our stuff (nothing was broken or scratched), they packed the truck amazingly well (I'm sure they are experts at playing Tetris LOL), and they worked fast and efficiently. Their prices are very reasonable and the original quote was higher than the actual so that was a nice bonus. Overall the entire moving process was efficient and very professional. They drove the UHaul truck to our home and proceeded to go in each room to see what the big furniture items were and then they started loading up. We have a 4 bedroom home so a lot of stuff needed to be moved! The owner John had suggested we could save money by having helpers there to assist with loading/unloading since the pay is per hour. We got a team of volunteer friends/family and it went very quickly. Within a couple of hours we got the 26 foot UHaul loaded jam packed ceiling to floor, random delicate items in multiple cars and vans, and a truck and trailer loaded with more items. Then we made the 45 minute drive to our new home and unloaded. We offered lunch to everyone afterwards and we were glad they were able to stay and eat because it was very hot outside and everyone needed a break. Then they left with the UHaul and drove it back.

The job required lifting a heavy wood table along with a glass top and bringing it down two flights of stairs to a Uhaul Truck bringing it into a home and then attaching the legs of the table to the table. These guys got it together. I hired them for 2 hours to pack a 16 foot rental truck full of my daughters belongings and they got it done in less time. They new exactly how to pack everything so that it was all safe and damage free when we finished the drive from Ann Arbor to St. Louis. I expected to have a couple issues with broken glass on pictures and mirrors (I boxed this stuff up ahead of time) and some minor scratches or dings. But not one incident. The way they packed the truck made it easy to unload too. I'd deffinetly hire these guys again. My only regret was that I didn't have a cooler full of cold drinks for these hard working guys. Excellent!

Very impressed with John Andrew & Big Guy for Hire. The guys were a little late but we received a phone call informing us of this. They were incredibly fast & efficient and are very reasonably priced. They went above & beyond the job description by helping us out with attaching our car to a trailer & attaching the trailer to our rental truck. Everything arrived safe & sound, without a scratch. Would definitely recommend them to anyone needing loading services.

It's two great big guys that come out to move everything for you. They're the manpower of the moving process. We had the pickup trucks they they moved it all for us. They loaded everything for two trips including large furniture. I know they also move things just around the house. They're really good guys.

They moved an old refrigerator and air conditioning unit from my second floor. Their price was worth it. They were excellent. They were very nice. They did what they were supposed to do. They had to remove two doors to get the job done. I would recommend them. I would absolutely use them again.

Pretty good. They were on time, extremely professional and helpful. I actually rented a truck that was smaller than what I needed, so they went with me to switch the truck out. On the way there and back, they gave me tons of advice on driving the 26" truck with my jeep attached. Got everything done in a reasonable amount of time. I knocked off a star because it turns out they didn't secure the moving blankets to my furniture, so when I got to Boston, a lot of the expensive stuff was damaged. We can only use what is supplied to us, and in this case you didnt have any wrap that would have kept the blankets from falling off... we do it this way almost every time and we dont get complaints. I have waited a while so any minor annoyances have disappeared from my brain. I also waited to see if I found any holes in walls that are discovered over time (none).While I have never had a perfect moving experience, this is probably as close as I will ever come. Hats off to you boys.
