We had Derek and one other guy help us move all of our furniture and a bunch of packed boxes into a 17' U-Haul and then into our 10'x10' storage unit. They protected and wrapped all furniture with furniture pads we purchased and every item looked like it was gift wrapped for Christmas. I would have sworn it would not all have fit but they packed this truck and unit so perfectly every singe item fit in one trip. Very impressive work. If you need white glove service at an affordable price, this is the place and Derek is the guy to make it happen.

Big guy for Hire did great job in our recent move from apt to house . Very simple and worked for straight 8 hrs without any breaks or unwanted chat. I completely mis calculated how much stuffs I had at my pervious place, Big Guys did not complaint. They also dismantled and assembled my beds. I will recommend Big Guys to my friends and family for sure.

This is my third time using Big GUY and his professional movers. This time they moved my business. The first time was 6 years ago. I am so happy to see John's moving business flourish. So deserved. Again, Derek and crew made my stressful experience seamless; Efficient, conscious of what needed to be cared for, and listening to me. Probably, of all the things that made a difference for me with having these movers, was the simple acts of Kindness and care between the workers, and the letting me know that all was well. Perhaps you're wondering why someone would pay a man before moving into a new place. Well, don't worry. Low charge for them. And why would you want them? Well, when I was moving I was distraught. This can't be happening, I thought. I let these big guys take charge though, and they pulled off a master moving job. Moving doesn't have to be extremely painful when these big guys work for you. I would refuse any other company's offer in favor of theirs. If you're anxious about your new home, you can rest assured that now is not the time for fear.

I had two guys come and help me load and unload my u-haul. They were professional, efficient, and not a single thing was broken or marred because of their expert packing! If you are looking for moving help these are the guys to call!

Anyone who needs real men to do a real job - Call John, he will advise you, give you a quote, the two experiences I have with Big Guy for Hire, each 10 stars. All good. Twice, I have called Big Guy for Hire for my moving service. First time was a local move. A one+ hour drive to my new destination. No issue with the distance. John was informative, no hidden gotcha's with these guys. Derek #1 Jenga Master, he is the best at (a insane amount) he calculating items to fit into a moving truck, and or cube. This truly is a learned art. My first move was a 17ft Moving Truck, Big Guy For Hire, moving is stressful situation, being that these guys are professionals, they calm, doing their part, they do not require babysitters, they go, do and get it done, this made everything so much easier. I had no stress. Derek was a huge help, as a human being. My 2nd move, I called John. I asked for Derek specifically. I so happy he was available. I requested two men. There wasn't any hmm, calculating how to add my entire household into two cubes. As I stared at the cubes, I thought it was impossible. Each Derek, knocked it out, done. My two Relo-cubes were picked up and traveled from Michigan to Florida. They arrived at my new destination. Upon opening the cubes, what did I find?
One packed to the top. The other was 3/4 way full. Derek used rope, as John said I would need. He interwove it like Spider Man throughout my belongings -both Cubes. Besides a slight shifting, which was expected, all of my personal items, furniture, everything was same as when Derek & Derek packed it. No damage, no unfortunate mishaps by how my stuff was loaded. All was intact, Everything from start to end was 100, Gold. These are Good Guys, Moving is hard work, they give their all, which makes it so less stressful.
* D&D I wish you could drive here, to move me a 3rd time, I am coming back, Moving one more time, back to the Mitten. It's all good, I miss my Michigan Football. Ms. K... Collapse

We were concerned about the high price of other moving companies. We went with them thinking that if it didn't go well we'd have fam and friends to help. They were GREAT. Incredibly friendly, professional, prepared, and accommodating. We would definitely use them again.

We reserved Big Guy for Hire team for our final move into our new home 2 days before Christmas! Kevin and Kyle (aka the Twins!) arrived right on time, and worked with us for the full day, loading up from our apartment and unloading at our new home. They also unloaded a completely full POD as well, and were troopers moving our heavy furniture pieces all day. They had great attitudes, did whatever was necessary to get the items properly placed, and there was absolutely no damage to any walls or doors. John was great. He responded quickly to my request for a quote and was very thorough, even offering to come to the job site to assess the items needing to be moved to be sure the job was possible and not waste my time. I got a same day appointment and the 'big guys' that came out were polite, professional and worked very quickly. They were delicate with my antique furniture and were cautious not to scratch my newly polished floors. They even offered to help me set up my bed frame and dressers! Highly recommend and a great price for the job.
John was great. Absolute lifesavers, quickly and safely unloading a 16-foot box truck up three flights of stairs in the middle of a cold snap. Price for the service can't possibly be beat. Would absolutely recommend and use again for any size moving job.

Not one complaint!!!!!! These guys really did a good job with moving stuff to our house. The Price was reasonable. John was the nicest dude. They came to take care of business and they did. I have no regrets for getting Big Guy for Hire. They were very super friendly, asked me what needed to be moved, I just had to relax while they took over. They moved efficiently. They were careful with all my furniture. I cannot recommend these guys enough.

I live way out in Pinckney - that was no problem. The price was reasonable. Two great guys were at my door at 2:30, exactly on time. They were very friendly, told me to relax while they took over. They moved quickly and did everything I needed. They were careful with my furniture. I cannot recommend these guys enough.

We couldn't have asked for a better experience than the one we had with Big Guy for Hire! The staff was unbelievably helpful and personable. We moved from Detroit to Chicago and their assistance made it so easy. The loading time was so fast and streamlined. We fit our entire 2 bedroom (small) home in a 15 foot U haul thanks to Derek and his amazing organization. There was no damage to our belongings and the staff was very careful in loading and unloading. I would use them for every move, they blew away all of our expectations. Thank you to the whole team!
