My husband and I moved from Iowa to Michigan and since this company had great reviews we were excited to have them help us move. We asked them to unload our moving truck into a storage unit and then help my mother-in-law unload her furniture. My husband had to work the day after we moved, so my mother-in-law and I were the ones who dealt with these people. They called my phone a few minutes before we were supposed to meet and they were parked at an automotive parts factory; they claimed this was the correct address and it was not a storage facility. After calling the facility to double check the address, I entered the address in my GPS and found the facility with no problem. The storage facility was huge with many signs; it's pretty hard to miss. On my way to the facility, I got a call from John saying they had found the facility and would be waiting for us. John accompanied me into the storage facility, where he tried to talk to the storage agent and choose a lock for me. I found this slightly condescending, since I am a capable adult. John and his helper helped me back the truck (a 26 footer) into a loading dock since I don't have any experience with trucks this big. There seemed to be lots of standing around and planning how to unload/arrange our things and the storage unit provided many of the carts and dollies the movers used. John made numerous comments about how the truck was packed: what shouldn't be packed in boxes, some items that had fallen out or shifted (we drove 500 miles) and larger items (like fishing poles and our kids' bikes) that he thought should have been packed in boxes. At one point he said "It's extremely annoying to have to pick up... Read more

John made numerous comments about how the truck was packed: what shouldn't be packed in boxes, some items that had fallen out or shifted (we drove 500 miles) and larger items (like fishing poles and our kids' bikes) that he thought should have been packed in boxes. At one point he said "It's extremely annoying to have to pick up little things and little boxes. Could I get you to go buy a few boxes and tape from the storage company?" Then he stated, "Never mind, just forget I said anything." My son and I helped to push handcarts of boxes back to our unit to speed up the movers' progress. I also witnessed John TOSSING our boxes to his helper from the truck until they saw me. John and his helper took an hour lunch break and arrived at my mother-in-law's apartment to help her unload her furniture. John became irritated when my mother-in-law instructed him where to put furniture and boxes; he thought they should go in a different place. He was irritated about waiting a few minutes while we put screws in her hutch to secure the top to the bottom and bolts in her recliner sofa to secure the backs to the seat. John seemed irritated and was extremely rude and disrespectful to both my mother-in-law and I and our possessions. This is the first experience we've had with hiring movers, and to tell the truth, I'd rather do everything myself if this is what one has to put up with. Yelp makes me fill in a whole star, but these guys really deserve about half a star.
>RESPONSE FROM BIG GUY: We did have the right address, Google maps put us in the wrong place, a simple mistake, nothing you should be angry about. It wasnt our fault. We were there on time and at least 15 minutes before you showed up. We made every attempt to be helpful and please you but you had an unbelievable attitude. I wasnt being condescending, I just wanted to help speed up the process because we waited for over an hour for you to have the rental unit ready. Your truck was one of the worst i have ever seen in my moving career. what I asked for, any mover would have asked for. You did see how we were able to fill 2 big boxes with the small stuff that was all over the floor of your truck didnt you? We could have filled 3! We regularly toss boxes full of clothes and shoes and pillows and linen between our men. This does not harm the contents and makes the job go faster! Every cart load needed to be taken the entire length of the facility to your locker. How could it have gone faster? We didnt give your mother attitude, there was no place left to put things in your apartment! You were a 'first timer' customer with unrealistic expectations and way too much extremely poorly packed stuff for the space you rented, and yet we made it all work under pressure! We were just trying to get through your job to another day where we would be appreciated. And we did: the next customer absolutely loved us.<... Collapse
