This was the 1st time I used a "flat fee by the hour" moving contractor instead of itemized quoted movers. Being an experience movee, I knew that it would only take 3 hrs tops to move and budgeted accordingly. 4 1/2 hrs later, the move was completed. In addition to that cost, you have to rent your own truck. During the move, I had end tables with a few things in the drawers.....they were promptly dumped out on the floor before moving to the truck, instead of securing the drawers closed or asking me to put the items in another box. Arriving at the new house, I had a large piece of furniture going into the semi-finished basement for the purpose of storage/laundry table. They tried to talk me out of it because of the "smell" down there. THE BASEMENT WAS DRY!! It didn't smell....I just think they didn't want to move it. Very unprofessional. I advised friends against using them and now I'm voicing my opinion here as well.
