They didn't waste my time, or my money.
We have a Home Staging company where sometimes we need help moving furnishings to storage, from room to room, etc. Big Guys have done that for us twice - showed up clean and on-time - and worked without taking a break until they were done. Local Move
This was the 1st time I used a "flat fee by the hour" moving contractor instead of itemized quoted movers. Being an experience movee, I knew that it would only take 3 hrs tops to move and budgeted accordingly. 4 1/2 hrs later, the move was completed. In addition to that cost, you have to rent your own truck. During the move, I had end tables with a few things in the drawers.....they were promptly dumped out on the floor before moving to the truck, instead of securing the drawers closed or asking me to put the items in another box. Arriving at the new house, I had a large piece of furniture going into the semi-finished basement for the purpose of storage/laundry table. They tried to talk me out of it because of the "smell" down there. THE BASEMENT WAS DRY!! It didn't smell....I just think they didn't want to move it. Very unprofessional. I advised friends against using them and now I'm voicing my opinion here as well. Be aware.

I have hired John and his helper twice now within the same year - September of 2009 and December of 2009. They moved my gigantic armoire and all my furniture. Great move experience
I highly recommend, Big Guy For Hire, having had John move me in the Ann Arbor area. Initially I was going to have him move only my boxes. When he was so willing to change dates, 3 times, once with only a 24 hour notice, that I decided to have him move everything. He and one other man arrived on time, were courteous, careful and quick. Helped During Remodeling‎
We hired the company to help us move family room furniture for a remodel. John and a helper came and moved all the furniture out and then came back when the remodel was over and moved the furniture back into the room. This included a large rear-screen projector TV. This guy knows his stuff. Very courteous, outgoing and a pleasure to work with. John and his partner carried three pool table slates up from the basement without a complaint. They loaded up my entire house including a full sized basement, the three bedroom main floor, and the garage in three hours. Unloading PODS filled with furniture and household goods into our house.
John and his helper showed up in a timely fashion. There was some confusion over directions, but that got worked out. They promptly began unloading the items from the PODS. These included dressers, mattresses, boxes etc. They were careful, thorough, friendly and fast. They placed items where we asked them to. Nothing was damaged, including the walls. They even helped us move a piece of exercise equipment to my sister-in-laws house. The job was done in about 2 hours. I would definitely use them again!

We sold our house and had to be out in 30 days.  Not having found a new house yet we deceided to put our furnishings into PODS(Portable On Demand Storage.)  We called BIG GUY for hire, to handle the move.  John and Derek were out at the appointed time and packed the first 8’x8’x16’ pod in less than two hours.  Two weeks later the second pod was filled just as quickly.

We closed on our new house 90 days later and called BIG GUY for hire, and set up an appointment.  Our PODS were delivered and John and Derek were able to unload both in less than four hours.  Everything was put in place without a hitch, nothing broken or scratched.  Big or small, light or heavy, there was no item they could not handle.

Friends and family are no match for the speed and efficency of John and Derek.  Without their knowledge and expertise no telling how long or how many PODS we would have needed.  We highly recommend BIG GUY for hire, and will be passing out their card and telling our friends who to call when needing moving expertise.
